Brad Schultz - Engineers Without Borders Volunteer Placement

Brad is a Mechatronic Engineer and worked on-site with KAPEG for 5 months from August 2010 until January 2011.  Brad spent 9 years helping to build a small technology company in Brisbane, after starting his career working in nanotechnology research in the USA. In that time he also travelled a lot with his wife, had some involvement with other NGOs and undertook International Development study, gaining a desire to work within the field.  Brad is assisted KAPEG commercialise a some wooden LED lamps which are helping to support KAPEG financially and creating a new industry in Dhulikhel.  He also tackled a few Nepali mountains on his mountain bike.  Brad's wife, Diana helped KAPEG out with Graphic Design and layout during Brad and Diana's stay in Nepal.  She also put together the fantastic video on this website's front page!
Brad and Diana is now located in Brisbane and continues to assist KAPEG with IT support, commercialisation support and is also working on developing a low cost, cellular network connected data acquisition system for remote wind / hydro / solar installations in Nepal.
